Several Forsyth County public safety employees have been honored for their actions during the June 6, 2014, courthouse shooting.
The Georgia General Assembly passed a resolution honoring deputies who engaged in a gun battle with a heavily-armed Dennis Marx, killing him and thwarting his plan to invade the courthouse. The honorees included deputy Daniel Rush, shot twice in the leg, and 911 communications supervisor Ginger Adams, who alerted law officers to the attack.
In addition, the 911 center “A” shift on duty that day was honored as the 911 team of the year at the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference.
