Election Day started out strong in Fulton County.

In the final hour of voting, though, all was fairly quiet at the Sandy Springs Public Library polling location.

The few last-minute voters who came in were able to cast their ballots right away, avoiding the lines many voters faced.

Polling manager Kay Robinson said the day went well overall, aside from a couple issues.

One was that an express voting machine was taken out of commission for about 20 minutes, until it could be fixed.

Problems with express voting machines were reported across metro Atlanta, including at Therrell High School, where frustrated voters took to social media to complain.

Richard Barron, Fulton’s director of elections and registration, said he was happy with "the way things went" today.

“We can say that Fulton County runs good elections. We’ve improved each election," Barron said. "This is the big test today, and I think we’ve passed.”

Perhaps the final voter at the Sandy Springs library was Purna Sharma, 63, who rushed over from Piedmont Hospital, where she works as a radiologist.

Sharma is an immigrant who has lived in Atlanta since 1986.

"Basically I was born British, then I became Tanzanian, then I became Australian and then I came to America."

If she could describe the election in one word, it would not be appropriate for publication. The second word she'd choose, though: "embarrassed."

Her friends in different countries have been asking her, "What are you guys doing in the states?"

"To me, I just think that I have to do this," she said.

And by "do this," she means: "get Clinton in, bottom line."
