East Point considers grants, public works projects

The East Point City Council will consider approving bids for three public works projects during the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Ave. Suite 400. The first is for replacing the creek culvert at 3030 Dodson Drive for $362,662, the second is for a road sign replacement bid for $88,215 and the third bid is for road resurfacing, with a federal grant of $1,920,000, which will be matched locally with $1,180,094.91.

The council will also discuss accepting the Assistance to Firefighters Grant for $711,364, to purchase three new vehicles for the fire department.
