Early/advance voting has kicked off in the July 14 runoff to fill the vacant Georgia House District 24 seat.

This week, voters can cast ballots 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Thursday at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming. Next week’s voting is set for 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through July 9 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. July 10 at both the county administration building and at the Midway Park Community Building, 5100 Post Road.

Voters will pick between Sheri Gilligan and David Van Sant, the two top GOP vote-getters from the June 16 special election. They’re vying to fill the remaining year-and-a-half of former State Rep. Mark Hamilton’s term. District 24 includes the city of Cumming and parts of north and west Forsyth. More information: forsythco.com
