Duluth will host a ceremony Sept. 11 to unveil the Living Honorarium, a monument dedicated to the service of military, fire and police personnel.

The ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. on the Duluth Town Green at 3142 Hill Street. The event is free and will also include music, speakers and the presentation of a commemorative coin.

The monument was thought up in 2005 by former Duluth Mayor Shirley Lasseter, who secured private support and held a competition to select an artists and concept for the tribute.
