Duluth’s 2016 Citizen’s Budget Review Advisory Committee met four times over a three-month period to discuss and develop recommendations relating to the city’s financial position. The committee is comprised of: Alana Moss, Miguel Figueroa, Manfred Graeder, Eva Kuhn, Charles Summerour, Richard Meehan, Nazir Molu, James Farmer, Denise Auger, and Kirkland Carden.

Chairman Graeder presented the committee’s findings at last week’s city council work session. The committee is recommending an increase in the tax millage rate. Their findings conclude a need to create more revenue to meet the growing demands of the community. The committee feels there are no city-provided services they would recommend cutting at this time.

City staff and the Duluth city council will consider the recommendations after fulling evaluating the committee’s report.
