Duluth began a journey to define the city’s character and translate it into public art in October of 2014. Workshops were held to allow citizens to provide input in the development of a Public Art Master Plan that will stipulate a framework for future art projects. The completed plan is available at www.duluthga.net/publicartmasterplan.

Duluth believes having an abundance of unique art and events means more revenue for local business and makes the community more attractive to young, talented professionals.

The Duluth Public Art Master Plan will be implemented by the Duluth Public Art Commission, under the auspices of the city council and city staff, to ensure a high quality of art, as well as a variety of artistic experiences, is available to Duluth citizens and visitors.
