The Duluth City Council chose Archimetric Design and Construction Inc. for improvements to Scott Hudgens Park, 4545 River Green Parkway. The Norcross-based firm was the lowest of four bidders for the SPLOST-funded project at $643,265 with a 10 percent contingency for a total of $707,592.
Improvements will include boundary fencing for the park, mill and overlay existing asphalt and drainage and stormwater improvements.
The park sits within the River Green Office Park adjacent to a school, office, and Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area. The park is owned by Georgia DNR, leased to Duluth, and is managed and maintained by the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association.
The park land was donated to the city with the stipulation that it be used for soccer.
