The tenth installment of Duluth’s Learn, Engage, Advance Duluth Academy is set to begin 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 8 at City Hall, 3167 Main St. Applications are being accepted through Jan. 19 to participate in the eight Thursday evening sessions and one Monday evening session when the class will join the City Council for their regularly scheduled work session at 5:30 pm. Light dinner and snacks are provided each week.
The leadership program encourages citizens to become engaged in government operations, participate by serving on various boards and committees, and explore other opportunities in the community to become involved. Citizens will be empowered to create insightful solutions to important community issues and needs. In addition, the program will spark interest in local issues, present information about important questions facing the city, provide an avenue for residents to help plan the community’s future, and give citizens hands-on experience in city government operations.
