A construction worker doing bridge work on I-85 was critically injured in a hit-and-run early Wednesday in College Park.
The crash happened along I-85 and Camp Creek Parkway about 1:30 a.m, College Park spokesman Lt. Gerald Riser Jr said.
The man, whose name has not been released, suffered injuries to his face and right leg, Riser said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment and is in critical condition.
About 12:50 p.m., dispatch got a call about from the driver who admitted striking the man on the highway, Riser said. Her name is not being released as charges are pending.
The injured worker is a contractor with the Georgia Department of Transportation, GDOT spokeswoman Annalysce Baker said.
He was painting a bridge near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
