Drinking a beer at SunTrust Park isn’t anything new, but on Saturday there’ll be more than 200 types of beer to drink inside the ballpark.
After six years at Turner Field, the Great Atlanta Beer Fest will be held at the new home of the Braves from 1 to 5 p.m., according to the organizer Atlanta Beer Festivals.
Tickets cost $50 in advance or $60 the day of the event. The tickets, which you can buy online, get you a souvenir cup and all of the beer samples you can handle. Food costs extra.
Kari Weaver with ABF said that a new stadium means a new layout — everything will be in either the concourse or the Chophouse, which means everything will be in the shade.
She said college football will be on TVs throughout the park, including the big screen in centerfield. There will also be a DJ.
No outside food or beverage is allowed, according to the Facebook event page. The event adds a super-important addendum: "Pretzel necklaces are OK."
The event is happening rain or shine but without pets or children.
Weaver said they are expecting 3,000 people and “encourage everyone to take Uber or Lyft.” The booze-serving cuts off at 4:45 p.m.
You can check out the beer and wine lists online.
