The Doraville City Council took advantage of several grant programs recently. During its regular meeting Monday, the council voted unanimously to approve applying for a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant. If awarded, the city will use the grant for the Park Avenue extension project.

Another grant application approved by the council is the Community Development Block Grant, which would bring the city $300,000 to improve Flowers Park, 3740 Park Ave.

The council also approved a Livable Centers Initiative study of nearly five miles of Buford Highway from Claremont Road to Oakcliff. The study is a joint project with the city of Chamblee. Nearly two miles of the Buford Highway study are in Doraville.
