Doraville residents and area dignitaries gathered Monday to witness the oath of office swearing-in ceremony for Mayor Donna Pittman and new council members M. D. Naser and Shannon Hillard.

Doraville Municipal Court Judge Scott Carter presided over the ceremony which began with the Cross Keys High School Color Guard presenting the American flag and leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Councilwoman Pam Fleming, also elected to serve another term, was unable to attend and will be sworn in at a future date.

Following the swearing-in, an additional presentation was made to Mayor Pittman by representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural office. The certificate of appreciation was given to the mayor in recognition for her “longstanding support of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for leadership that set a tone of hospitality and inclusiveness for Doraville’s large Asian-American community, and for strengthening further cultural, educational and business exchanges between Doraville and Taiwan.”
