Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman discussed the $400 million in development taking place in the city during last week’s state of the city address. With an audience of nearly 200, Pittman’s comments detailed the current projects under way, such as the Assembly project on the old General Motors site, the Nexus project, a 60,000-square-foot, $200 million mixed use project on Buford Highway, and a state-of-the-art movie studio now under construction.
“I stand before you to tell you with great pride that these projects are becoming a reality,” Pittman said. “This is an exciting time for our city, a time that we can all be proud of as we move forward in building a city not just for the present, but for the future.”
The evening’s program also included comments from DeKalb County Commissioner Nancy Jester. Additional city achievements included approval of the Peachtree Road Streescape concept that will add bike lanes, trees and improved safety features; a new $30 million industrial development currently under construction; and a $250m redevelopment project by Nalley Nissan and Infinity.
