Flowers Road South closed through Feb. 18

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management announced that construction contractor Ruby-Collins will be performing emergency repairs on a collapsed sewer pipe. Crews will work to replace 300 feet of aging 30-inch-diameter concrete sewer pipe with ductile iron pipe.

According to a press release, Flowers Road South, from Woodstock Boulevard to Brandywine Road, will be closed from through Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Detour signs and traffic personnel will be in place to assist motorists.

Board of Health to meet Jan. 24

The next meeting of the DeKalb County Board of Health is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Bohan Auditorium,

located in the Richardson Health Center at 445 Winn Way, Decatur. The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

According to a press release, agenda items for the meeting include the approval of minutes from previous meetings, service award presentations, the director’s report, a review of the Board of Health’s top accomplishments for 2018 and the current financial status report.

Anyone who would like to bring an issue before the board can be placed on the agenda by contacting India Dyer at (404) 294-3787.
