DeKalb Tech gets new name

April 7, 2011Say good-bye to DeKalb Technical College and hello to Georgia Piedmont Technical College.
The board over the state's technical colleges unanimously approved the name change Thursday. The new name better reflects the college's mission because it serves DeKalb, Rockdale, Newton and Morgan counties, officials said.
College officials plan to select a new logo and school colors by the end of June.
