Senior Connections, a nonprofit that serves senior citizens in metro Atlanta, recently raised $200,000 for its operations at its recent “Senior Prom.”
It is the second year the group was able to raise that much in donations, used to offset cuts in government contributions.
The money raised translates into 40,000 additional meals the group can prepare or the ability to provide home-delivered meals to more than 130 new seniors for a year.
