DeKalb County Police to present active shooter training

DeKalb County Police Department presents two active shooting training classes this month. CONTRIBUTED
The DeKalb County Police Department’s Homeland Security Unit has scheduled two Active Shooter Training sessions for places of worship this month. The presentations are focused on providing places of worship vital information on how to develop an Emergency Operation Plan that will equip them to mitigate any incident they may face including vandalism, fire, and flood.

- 6:30 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 at House of Hope, 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur
- 6:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at Smoke Rise Baptist Church, 5901 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain
Both sessions will also include “What to do in the Event of an Active Shooter.” These presentations are arranged to deliver pivotal information to clergy and staff of all denominations, addressing current concerns and challenges that places of worship are facing.
