The DeKalb County Police Alliance received a $10,000 donation this month during a regular Board of Commissioners meeting. The money was raised during Commissioner Stan Watson’s fourth annual DeKalb International Food and Music Festival and will be used toward the insurance premium that covers sworn law enforcement officers of the county and municipalities of DeKalb.
“Our officers serve the county in dangerous situations every day,” said Interim Chief of Police James Conroy. “This donation helps protect our brave officers and their families. We also hope to use some of the funds toward the construction of the K-9 memorial.”
