Decatur’s city commission will name a temporary replacement for long-time commissioner Kecia Cunningham during it’s meeting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the City Commission Meeting Room, 509 N. McDonough St. Cunningham, who was also mayor pro tem, resigned her seat and moved out of town last month to take a new job. On Tuesday the commission will also elect a new mayor pro tem for the year’s duration from the four remaining elected members.

The city won’t identify the replacement until Tuesday’s meeting, though it won’t be either Brian Smith or James M. Johnson, who qualified last week to run for Cunningham’s District 2, Post B seat on Nov. 3. The replacement will serve the remainder of Cunningham’s term through Dec. 31.
