The Department of Community Affairs has awarded low-income housing tax credits for the second phase of the Trinity Walk Development in Decatur. Trinity Walk is the current re-development of the Gateway Manor Apartments, which has now been mostly demolished. Phase One contains 69 units scheduled for completion next May.

Phase Two will have 52 units and should begin construction next June after families are moved into Phase One. Phase Two should finish sometime in 2017. Total, Trinity Walk will feature 121 apartment compared with the old Gateway’s 88.

The Decatur Housing Authority is planning a third Trinity phase, which involves re-developing 34 units of the circa-1960s apartments on Oakview Road in Decatur.
