The 12th Annual AJC Decatur Book Festival announced some author cancellations during this weekend's event, which is expected to attract tens of thousands of people.

Cancellations posted on Twitter by the festival include Kwame Alexander, Chen Chen, Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich, Lemony Snicket and Krista Tippett.

The annual event includes a variety of gatherings and a host of conversations with authors, covering tracks from fiction to poetry and journalism to long-form podcasts.

The festival, held in downtown Decatur, bills itself as the largest independent book festival in the nation.
