ORIGINAL STORY: Chinese and Mexican counter-service restaurant in the Midtown area failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting dead roaches and failure to provide a certified pest control contract for the facility.
Chico & Chang, located at 447 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, scored a 68/U following a Wednesday inspection that began at 4:20 p.m.
According to the report, "pico and cheese" items were held at 47.8 and 48.9 degrees Fahrenheit — greater than the 41 degrees Fahrenheit allowed.
Officials also reported heavy debris build-up on shelves, counters, fryers, fans and reach-in cooler doors.
A manager did not comment when reached by phone Thursday evening.
Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
