The Georgia Supreme Court this week upheld the murder conviction against a man who killed a Norcross woman by striking her in the head with an ax shortly before Valentine's Day in 2008.

Shannon Marlow, 36, of Tucker, is now serving life in prison for killing his girlfriend, 47-year-old Patricia Rabold. Police found Rabold's body on the floor of her home after they came looking for Marlow, who had two arrest warrants pending against him. They arrested Marlow, who had been in and out of psychiatric treatment centers since he was 18, after they found him hiding upstairs in the attic, the court's ruling said.
