Free seminar on divorce process

The law firm of Woodward and Stern will host a free pre-divorce seminar at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Old Fourth Ward Highland Bakery, 655 Highland Ave.

The seminar, run by attorneys Natalie Woodward and Corey Stern, will be the first in a series offered by the Atlanta firm for men and women contemplating divorce and have questions about the process or child custody and domestic violence issues.

Jennifer Luce, accountant, and Karin Smithson, family therapist, will also be available to answer questions.

Registration open for fall arts classes

Registration has started for fall classes at Fulton County’s four arts centers. Classes for children and adults include dance, theatre, painting, drawing and printmaking, among others. The eight-week session runs from Sept. 18 to Nov. 10, except at the Abernathy Arts Center where it’s from Sept. 22 to Nov. 17.

Golf tourney benefits gorillas

Ape Conservation Effort, Inc. will host its annual Gorilla Golf Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 with registration starting at 9:15 a.m. at the Brookfield Country Club, 100 Willow Run, Roswell. All proceeds will benefit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International which protects gorillas and their habitats in Africa. Registration includes a continental breakfast and buffet lunch. Gwinnett Public Libraries is inviting individuals and groups to re-imagine a chair or bench and enter their “Chair-ish the Arts” contest.
