Suit delays mixed-use development on Ponce

A lawsuit has delayed construction on the mixed-use development at 315 West Ponce De Leon Ave. A neighborhood coalition claims that developer Carter, the city and its zoning board of appeals abused their powers, and wants to halt construction of the 235 apartments, 10,000 square feet of retail space and a seven-story parking garage which was supposed to start in July. Construction won’t start until the lawsuit’s resolved, and a judicial hearing for the plaintiff and the city isn’t scheduled until October. Bill Banks for the AJC
