Powder Springs to hold ZIP code meetings

A meeting on possibly changing the postal code near Powder Springs will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford Center, 4181 Atlanta St., behind the Powder Springs Library.

Powder Springs Community Development Director Pam Conner said the U.S. Postal Service will change the Hiram postal code for those who live in unincorporated Cobb to the Powder Springs code if the city hosts this meeting, provides a hotline number and assists with survey distribution to those affected.

If approved by the postal service, she said the change will not go into effect for maybe a year when both zip codes will be accepted during the transition time.
