Roswell switching fields to artificial turf

Roswell is contemplating spending $3 million to install at least four synthetic turf fields at area parks. Like numerous athletic fields at North Fulton high schools, switching from grass reduces seasonal wear and eliminates need to close fields for resodding. Turf is being considered for Roswell Area Park’s football and lacrosse practice areas six and seven, Waller Park Extension’s lower soccer practice field and East Roswell Park’s first soccer and lacrosse field.

The city is considering using contractor Medallion Athletics of Mooresville, N.C.
