The Cobb Chamber will host a free Networking Master Session from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Mansour Center, 995 Roswell St. NE, Suite 100, Marietta.

Friday is the registration deadline.

A panel of experienced business leaders will give tips on effective networking skills.

The 2014 Notice of Assessments, that were returned undeliverable, are posted in front of the courthouse door, 240 Constitution Blvd., Dallas at U.S. 278.

Those whose names and property accounts are on this list and want to file appeals will have until 5 p.m. Aug. 18.

Foxhall project meeting on Monday

A public meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday at Legacy Lookout, Foxhall Resort, 8000 Capps Ferry Road, Douglasville on the proposed Foxhall Project.

Local residents will be given information on the proposed development, including the hotel, golf course, and conference center.

Foxhall is an 1100-acre planned community along the Chattahoochee River.

DeKalb

Northlake businesses join Tucker district

More than 67 companies in DeKalb County’s Northlake area have joined a self-taxing community improvement district to improve infrastructure and economic development.

With the addition of its new members, the year-old Tucker CID changed its name this week to the Tucker-Northlake CID, according to an announcement from the group this week.

The public-private partnership includes a total of more than 166 commercial property owners representing about $157 million in property value.

Forsyth school enrollment up

Other than some bus route delays due to a large number of new students, Forsyth County school officials say their first day Thursday went smoothly. First-day enrollment totaled 41.716. That’s up from 40, 826 who were attending class at the end of the 2013-14 school year. The district says the number of students new to Forsyth county this year is 5.153, compared to last year’s 4.867.

Artists wanted to paint for a purpose

ArtWorks! Gwinnett is calling on artists to participate in ‘Doors to Homes and Hope’ to benefit Habitat for Humanity Gwinnett. Artists are invited register to paint a Door of Art for locations in Norcross, Suwanee, Duluth, Sugar Hill or Bethesda Park in Lawrenceville. Painted doors will need to be returned by Sept. 5.
