Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved a $400,000 contract Tuesday for renovations and upgrades to the county’s voice and data network. The one-year contract with Ideal Communications and LMI Systems represents a negotiated cost savings of approximately $3,809.

Work will include installation of voice and data network cabling services on an on-demand basis as the county renovates and upgrades its existing networks. Anticipated projects, contingent upon budget approval, include the Wellness Center in the Admin Annex Building, the Court’s Annex facility, Fire Station No. 10, Fire Station No. 31, the Fire Academy, the Medical Examiner’s facility, Parks and Recreation renovations, possible video expansion or upgrades for multiple locations, as well as day-to-day operations.
