An 18-year-old student is accused of slashing another student’s wrist with a box cutter inside a Cobb County high school bathroom.

Addison Bram Johnson was arrested Dec. 21 on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, carrying weapons in a school and a count of simple battery.

Cobb school district police wrote in a warrant that the fight inside Kennesaw Mountain High School happened Dec. 19.

The fight happened about 11:40 a.m. inside the bathroom, police wrote. Johnson’s box cutter had a five-inch blade, and he also is accused of punching the minor. Police didn’t say what precipitated the brawl.

“... The injuries are not life-threatening. Police, along with school officials, are now investigating and have identified those who were involved,” a district spokesperson said in a release Thursday night, more than a week after the incident occurred. “We take altercations like this very seriously and those responsible will be held legally accountable for their actions.”

After the cutting, Johnson allegedly threw the box cutter into the stall.

He was released after just under a day in Cobb jail on a $17,500 bond, records show.

Johnson’s next court date was not listed on the Cobb magistrate court database.
