Jones County authorities are investigating whether a homicide victim whose body was found in a house in Macon is that of a missing Henry County man.

Police are awaiting autopsy reports to confirm that the body is that of William Douglas Coker, 67, of Stockbridge, said Capt. Edward Humphries of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

Information about a cause of death will not be available until after the autopsy, Humphries said.

Coker was reported missing from Stockbridge by family members who told police they last saw him leaving his home last Tuesday.
