The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld the Fulton County murder conviction against a man who shot and killed his 46-year-old stepson during a fish fry.

On July 8, 2006, Charles Reese shot DiMario Gibson in the chest after Gibson opened the front door at the family's home in Atlanta. Reese then told people at the party what he'd done, laid his shotgun on a pillow and left. Earlier, Gibson had refused to give Reese a ride to the liquor store, angering Reese, who complained to a friend about the lack of respect he received from Gibson, the ruling said.
