Cobb County’s recent good luck with winning lottery tickets is apparently starting to creep into Cherokee County.
The AM PM Woodstock convenience store and BP at Trickum and Alabama roads sold the $1 million ticket.
No one from the Georgia Lottery was immediately available to confirm if the ticket for the Woodstock store at 12152 Ga. 92, had been claimed.
The balls were drawn Wednesday.
The first five numbers were correct — 5-28-33-38-42 — but the person failed to pick the winning Powerball of 19.
Because of that, the Powerball jackpot grows to $349 million.
The way it’s been going, a Cobb resident might be the one to reap the big prize.
Check out some other Cobbers who have recently had a good day:
- On Jan. 18, a 66-year-old communications engineer from Marietta won $450,000.
- A Powder Springs man won a new Kia Soul during an Atlanta Hawks game Jan. 23 thanks to the lottery's Cash4Life second-chance drawing.
- A recently-formed LLC claimed a prize of $83 million on Jan. 19 after two months of waiting after being sold at a Marietta gas station.
- Also a nearby winner, a 64-year-old Dallas woman claimed her $7.5 million lottery prize in October three months after learning she'd won because she wanted time to plan.
