Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, a concrete slab replacement project will create lane closures on Interstate 985 and Interstate 85 northbound in Buford.
Traffic will be reduced on I-85 northbound approximately half a mile before the I-985/I-85 interchange. Interstate 985 will also be reduced to one lane while the damaged concrete slabs will be removed.
Lane closures will be continuous from 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31.
This is a rapid response project that will replace 39 damaged portions of concrete roadway. The project was awarded to Precision 2000 Civil Construction Contractors for the contract amount $186,000.
