The Mall of Georgia has been busy getting itself reading for the holidays.
By the first of December, about 10 new stores will have opened — including the repeat seasonal retailer Hickory Farms.
Suffice it to say, there's a lot going on at the Mall this fall, according to the Mall of Georgia website. Let's recap:
COMING SOON
- Bella Dreams, a shop with health and wellness products such as anti-aging masks and serums, is slated for Oct. 6.
- Aliño Pizzeria, "a true Napoletana pizzeria with techniques and ingredients pulled from the best of Italy," with 800-degree ovens is expected to be cooking up pies done in less than two minutes come Nov. 9.
- Hickory Farms, a seasonal retailer with holiday food items and gift baskets, should open for the season Oct. 22.
- Paranoia Quest, the live room escape game where teams are expected to work together to crack codes in a locked multi-room labyrinth, is expected to open Nov. 1.
REMODELING
- Athletic retailer Finish Line should open Dec. 1 after being closed for remodeling.
RELOCATING
- Cinnabon which is expected to open around Nov. 21, has relocated to the lower level near JCPenney.
- ThinkGeek, the longstanding commerce website that caters to Trekkies (or Trekkers), Whovians and the technologically inclined, has opened.
- Charleys Philly Steaks opened Oct. 3, slinging up grilled-to-order cheesesteaks to hungry shoppers.
- The new two-level, 165,000-square-foot store and third location of Von Maur opened Sept. 17.
- AT&T relocated to a storefront location on the lower level near Macy's.
- Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, a barbecue chain offering items including smoked wings and baby back ribs, opened a 7,041-square-foot restaurant Aug. 15.
- Red Robin, a gourmet burger joint that has more than 500 locations nationwide, has arrived.
- The Fix, a cell phone repair and accessory store, is now open.
- The upscale shoe store Aldo also opened recently.
