One of Fayette County’s three seats on the McIntosh Trail Community Service Board is open for applications.

The 15-member board meets monthly throughout the seven counties (Fayette, Butts, Henry, Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson) it represents, addressing issues related to individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or addictive diseases. The board’s mission is to provide “quality behavioral health services and supports” such as substance abuse treatment, employment and family support, and mental health evaluations and therapy, in addition to nine specialty services programs. The open term begins July 1 and expires June 30, 2023; members are expected to attend 80 percent of all meetings.

Details about the board’s composition and function are at www.mctrail.org. Applications are under Public Notices at www.fayettecountyga.gov and must be submitted by March 27.
