Community Lens for March 9

“While visiting our son in early October, at Fort Bliss, in El Paso, Texa we visited Carlsbad Caverns,” wrote Mary Kane. “We stayed to watch the bats emerge. Over 200 people sat in silence as the emerged in groups, squeaking like mice. No pictures were allowed there. We could only take pictures from the parking lot. We could see bands of bats flying as the sun set behind us.”
