The city of College Park recently reviewed the progress of the 2014 property tax levy collection. According to a report from Interim Director of Finance and Accounting Nina Mallard and Property Tax Accountant Philip Latona, 88 percent of budgeted revenue has been received by the city with half of the fiscal year passed.

Although taxes were due on Dec. 3, city officials vowed to collect the remaining 12 percent. Arrangements will now involve assessing penalties and interest accordingly.

From Oct. 6 through Dec. 9, $8,086,265.75 of the general fund taxes have been collected. That’s 85.5 percent of the $9,458,811 levied.
