College Park Fire Department will conduct fire hydrant inspections beginning April 11.

The hydrant inspections will take place on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The twice-yearly inspections ensure that hydrants are up-to-date and functional. Residents may notice fire department personnel on residential streets flushing hydrants during this time. Water may appear cloudy or discolored immediately following hydrant flushing. It is recommended that residents not do laundry during flushing activities in their areas. Residents may wish to put aside some clear water for availability during the flushing. Residents experiencing discolored water should run their faucets for 3 to 5 minutes or until water runs clear.
