A long period of collaboration between the Henry County Fire Department and McDonough Fire Department bore fruit within the past week when Henry County Rescue Vehicle 51 was officially put into service based out of McDonough Station 51 on Keys Ferry Street.
The move is designed to relieve pressure off Rescue Vehicle 7, which has been responsible for serving the area until now, and provide a greater overall level of service to McDonough residents, according to officials.
Henry County Fire Chief noted that the two departments “often coordinate across county and city limits” and the new vehicle is “a great example of how this teamwork benefits everyone, especially with respect to the best interests of our citizens.”
