The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted recently to buy 10 replacement buses for the disabled at around $1.7 million with 80 percent federal funding.

The Federal Transit Administration will pay $1,381,371 while Cobb will pay $345,343.

Cobb Community Transit now has 30 buses for the disabled with model years from 2007 to 2009.

These buses will be replaced over a three-year period.

Each clean-diesel bus includes a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty for parts and labor and a five-year, 100,000-mile body-structure warranty.

Passengers must be certified to use paratransit service.
