Cobb County's new superintendent, Michael Hinojosa, has re-appointed businessman Wallace Coopwood to a financial oversight group that reports to the school board.

The move continues Coopwood's status as the only member of the facilities and technology committee to serve since its establishment in 1997. The committee oversees Special Local Option Sales Tax programs and evaluates facility and capital needs.

Coopwood, who has been a Georgia lobbyist, is chairman of board development for the Cobb Schools Foundation and is founder of Foundation 2000 For Children.
