A new Cobb government water park of nearly $4 million will open at Wild Horse Creek Park, 3820 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs on Saturday.

The only other outside Cobb swimming pool, Sewell Pool, 2055 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, also will open Saturday at a cost of around $2 million for small improvements to the existing pool and adding a splash pad, bathhouse, parking and a concession building.

However, the long-time outdoor pool at Powder Springs Park on Brownsville Road at the railroad tracks will be closed.
