Sidewalks for Bells Ferry Road were approved on July 9 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

For almost $308,902, the lowest-bidding contract was awarded to Tri Scapes, Inc.

Funding will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) Transportation Improvements Program.

This project consists of constructing an eight-foot-wide sidewalk, with curb and gutter, on the west side of Bells Ferry Road from the Noonday Creek trailhead driveway to Big Shanty Road.

The total length of the project is around 0.32 miles.
