Three appointments and four retirements have been approved by the Cobb County Board of Education.

As of July 1, James Carter will retire as the Area 4 assistant superintendent, Leadership and Learning Division.

William Griggers will retire as principal of Harrison High effective June 1.

Beginning April 13, Tracie Doe will be the assistant superintendent, Special Student Services, Academic Division.

She had been the Area 5 assistant superintendent, Leadership Learning.

Starting June 1, Travis Joshua will move from principal of Lindley Sixth Grade Academy to principal of Pebblebrook High, replacing Zinta Perkins.

From principal of Sprayberry High, John P. Kelly will become principal of Allatoona High effective June 1, replacing Scott Bursmith.

Both Perkins and Bursmith are retiring, Cobb schools spokeswoman Jennifer Gates said.
