A replacement fire station will be built in Mableton, moving from 5656 Mableton Parkway to 5781 Mableton Parkway.

On March 27, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners also agreed 5-0 to buy defibrillators and thermal imaging cameras.

For the new fire station, one of 30 in the county, the first of two phases was approved, paying $260,000 to John W. Spratlin and Son as the construction manager at-risk.

Later, the commissioners will finalize the total contract price.

For nearly $79,658, 32 defibrillators will be purchased as replacements and five additional thermal imaging cameras for the Cobb County International Airport and the newly created battalion apparatus.
