Cobb County Police Explorers held their 13th annual awards ceremony recently at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Center where they were recognized for winning top awards.

Explorers have won their 10th consecutive Georgia State Championship, 10th consecutive Metro Atlanta Championship for Explorers and a second-place trophy from the National Competition at Purdue University.

Many of the Explorers received ribbons, awards and plaques for their accomplishments this year.

The Life Saving Award was presented to Explorer Corporal Mario Alexander.

Many others in the program received accolades for their community service - more than 3,000 combined service hours.
