Cobb Parkway bridge replacement nears completion

The Cobb Parkway bridge replacement project over the Chattahoochee River is almost complete.

Replacing the 1935 bridge, one of the first four-lane divided highways in Georgia, this project began at Northgate Drive in Fulton County and ended at Paces Mill Road in Cobb.

The new six lanes are separated by a raised median with a 12-foot-wide multi-use trail on the east side of the bridge and a five-foot sidewalk on the west.

The multi-use trail also has improved access to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area’s Palisades Trailhead at Paces Mill.
