Cobb Commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday to cut three of the county’s least used bus lines — routes 35, 65 and 70 — and the accompanying paratransit service as part of countywide budget cuts.

The paratransit system offers curb to curb services on smaller buses for disabled riders unable to use the regular CCT buses.

About 463 paratransit riders will be impacted by the cuts. Operating the three routes costs $3.1 million.

The county will now offer the disabled rider service only within a three-quarter mile corridor of current CCT regular, fixed routes.

The service cuts take effect Aug. 1.
